DBT app- case study
The application was developed to make DBT skill practice simple, user-friendly, and accessible. DBT relies on real-time writing and practice, therefore using a mobile app, a device that is always within reach makes the practice accessible, available, and easy to implement throughout the day, and helps integrate emotional work as a natural part of daily life. As part of the project, a clear and intuitive interface was designed, with an organized content flow and a consistent visual language that simplifies processes and allows users to focus on the content itself. The app’s design draws on principles of Cubist art. This choice stems from the resemblance between breaking down emotions and behaviors in DBT and breaking down imagery into basic shapes in Cubism. This approach also inspired the app’s name, FACT, representing a part of the whole.
